Loads of them.  Evidence variable. As long as they are cheaper than VSL#3 and they have evidence for them it’s a buyers choice but we still don’t know enough to make stronger recommendations except in certain circumstances.

New GOJ stents

wp-1466601985018.jpgThis is a new stent for the GOJ. Can be used in both benign and malignant disease. But is it just like all the others which migrate?

This one is designed for variceal bleeds as a second line therapy instead of sengstaken. Of the two I think this one is more interesting.

 

Is this an alternative future for IBD treatment?  

Data from the ART trial interesting associated set up costs similar to infliximab. This could be useful in patients with refractory IBD

Nasal bridles help save lives

This is my poster for the BSG2016. It’s not quit as straightforward as I’m making out but we did find that bridles helped in our elderly cohort.

Just saw a talk on Ustekinumab by Prof Ghosh. Looks like it might well be yet another weapon in the arsenal to treat treatment resistant Crohn’s.
